Moniqs policies
Copyright & Image Use
Moniqs is an independent cultural and editorial publication.
We care deeply about the work of artists, photographers, writers and other creators and aim to treat their work with respect.
How we use images and other creative works
Images, quotations and other third-party material appearing on Moniqs may be:
- in the public domain;
- reproduced with permission;
- used under a licence;
- provided by museums, galleries, archives or rights holders;
- available under an open licence; or
- reproduced in an editorial context for criticism, review, commentary, education or discussion where permitted by applicable law.
Whenever reasonably possible, we identify the artist, photographer, author, title, date and source associated with the material.
Copyright remains with the relevant rights holder unless otherwise stated.
Using material you find on Moniqs
The fact that an image, artwork, photograph or other third-party work appears on Moniqs does not mean that it is free to reuse.
Moniqs may have permission or another lawful basis to display material that does not extend to other users.
Visitors should therefore not download, reproduce, redistribute, publish or commercially use third-party material from Moniqs unless they have independently established that they have the right to do so.
The appearance of material on Moniqs does not grant visitors a licence to use it.
Original Moniqs content
Original Moniqs articles, photography, graphics, branding and other original creative material may not be reproduced or republished without permission, except where permitted by applicable law.
You may share links to our articles and quote brief extracts with proper attribution.
Rights holders
If you are a rights holder and believe that material appearing on Moniqs has been used incorrectly, please contact us through the contact form.
Please include enough information for us to identify the work and understand your claim.
We will review legitimate requests promptly and, where appropriate, correct attribution, amend licensing information, replace the material or remove it.
